Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins has stirred controversy by reacting to an offensive post on Instagram about Team India following their victory in the 2023 Cricket World Cup final. The post, shared by an Australian media outlet, mocked the Indian team, particularly focusing on Travis Head’s match-winning century in the final.

In the screenshot that has gone viral on social media, Cummins responded to the post with four laughing emotions, which triggered a strong reaction from Indian cricket fans. It was reported that Cummins had initially liked the post but later undid the action, further intensifying the backlash from Team India supporters.

Despite the controversy surrounding his social media activity, Cummins received widespread praise for his outstanding performance as a captain and bowler in the World Cup final. He led the Australian team effectively, making strategic decisions like winning the toss and choosing to bowl first on a dry pitch. Cummins’ bowling figures of 10-0-34-2 were instrumental in dismissing key Indian batsmen Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer, limiting India to a total of 240 runs in 50 overs.

Despite losing three wickets early in their innings, Australia, under Cummins’ leadership, remained resilient, with Travis Head playing a stellar role by scoring an impressive 137 runs. This remarkable century led Australia to their sixth Cricket World Cup title victory.
