India defeated South Africa by eight wickets in the first match of three match ODI series at The Wanderers Stadium on Sunday.

From India, Sai Sudharsan scored 55 runs in 43 balls while Shreyas Iyer made 52 runs in 45 balls. Meanwhile, Andile Phehlukwayo and Wiaan Mulder took one wicket each in the second innings.
The South Africa team set a target of 117 runs in 50 over. The team made 116 runs loosing all wickets of which Andile Phehlukwayo scored 33 runs in 49 balls and Tony de Zorzi made 28 runs in 22 balls. In the first innings, Arshdeep Singh took fives wickets, while Avesh Khan took four wickets and Kuldeep Yadav clinched one wicket.
Earlier, South Africa had won the toss and opted to bat first against the blue caps.
