Tragic Accident! Hyva truck crushes PCR van in Cuttack, 2 police personnel dead and 1 critical, WATCH
A Hyva truck rammed into the PCR van and the accident occurred in Cuttack and completely crushed it. 2 police were dead while 1 is critical.
Cuttack: In a big blow to police, a Hyva truck rammed into a police control room (PCR) van on the Cuttack-Paradeep road near Gotirautpatna in Bidyadharpur of Cuttack early on Tuesday morning around 4.45 am. As a result two police personnel died on the spot.
According to information, the sand-laden Hyva truck and PCR van accident claimed the lives of two police personnel of which one was a Homeguard and another was a constable while one police personnel has been critically injured. The PCR van belonged to the CRRI police station.
The deceased Homeguard has been identified as Jagabandhu Mahali while the other personnel has been identified as Lokanath Sabar.
The Chauliaganj Fire Brigade rushed in to the spot and rescued the police personnel trapped inside the vehicle. They were rescued using a hydraulic gas cutter. The bodies of the two deceased were sent for post-mortem to SCB MCH in Cuttack.
Police have detained the Hyva truck driver and is questioning him said senior officials of Commissionerate Police.
