Security personnel recover 700 kgs of explosives from Saranda forest
As informed by sources, a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Special Operations Group (SOG), and Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) forces conducted the search operation in the Saranda Forest and recovered the 700 kgs of explosives.
Sundargarh: In a major crackdown against recent theft of explosives in Rourkela, the security personnel recovered 700 kgs more explosive materials from the Saranda forest near the Odisha-Jharkhand border.
As informed by sources, a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Special Operations Group (SOG), and Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) forces conducted the search operation in the Saranda Forest and recovered the 700 kgs of explosives.
It is to be noted here that a truck carrying around four tonne of explosives from Banko forest in K Balang area on May 27 morning was hijacked and the explosives materials were looted allegedly by a group of 30-40 Maoists. However, Odisha Police with the help of its Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh counterparts had started a search operation to trace the looted explosives.
On June 2, the security personnel found 2.5 tonne of the 4 tonne looted explosives from Saranda area along Odisha-Jharkhand border and recovered another 700 kgs today.
