Man thrashes wife to death with wooden plank for drinking Handia rice beer in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj
Following the crime, initially the accused managed to flee from the scene. However, later Udala Police arrested him
Udala: In a shocking incident, a man thrashed his wife with a wooden plank and thus she was killed on the spot. The incident took place in the Uparataladiha village under Udala Police Station limits in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.
The accused has been identified as Guru Prasad Singh and the deceased is his wife Sita Singh.
As per reports, Guru Prasad had gone to work today. After returning from work he looked for ‘Handia’ rice beer in the house. However, he did not find the intoxicant and found that his wife has drank all the Handia kept at the home and thus she is in an inebriated state.
Accordingly, a verbal spat erupted between the husband and the wife. Soon, it escalated to a bigger brawl and the man took out a wooden plank and went on thrashing the woman with it.
As a result, the woman was killed on the spot. It has also been known that the accused also tried to kill their two small children who were present in the house then.
After committing the crime, the accused husband managed to flee from the scene.
After getting information, Udala Police reached the spot and initiated investigation. So far Police have arrested the accused husband. The scientific team of police is investigating the matter.
