Landslide hits bus in Himachal Pradesh,15 feared dead
According to Bilaspur Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar, rescue operations are underway, and three people have been rescued alive.
New Delhi: A tragic incident unfolded in Himachal Pradesh’s Bilaspur district on Tuesday evening when a massive landslide hit a private bus, resulting in the deaths of at least 15 people. The bus, carrying 30-35 passengers from Marotan to Ghumarwin, was buried under tons of debris near Ballu Bridge in the Jhandhuta assembly segment.
According to Bilaspur Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar, rescue operations are underway, and three people have been rescued alive.
The landslide occurred around 6:30 pm when chunks of mud and rocks slid down a hillside and collided with the bus. The impact was severe, completely burying the vehicle under debris.
Rescue teams, including police, fire department personnel, and the Himachal Pradesh Disaster Management Authority, are working tirelessly to clear the debris and locate trapped passengers.
