The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has issued high alerts at all Indian airports after a warning of potential terror attacks between September 22 and October 2.

According to the reports, the advisory released on August 4 directs strict security measures at all aviation facilities immediately.

Airlines have been reportedly advised to carry out strict checks on all cargo and mail before laoding it onto the planes. These rules apply to both domestic and international flights.

Further, entry into airport areas will be more tightly controlled. Staff, workers and visitors must show proper ID, and anyone without permission will turned away. Additionally, CCTV cameras are being monitored 24/7 and any suspicious activity will get an immediate response.

BCAS has reportedly asked airports to stay in close with CISF and intelligence agencies to share updates in real-time. Passengers are being reminded through announcements to report anything unusual or unsafe.
