Alert for parents! Your child’s Aadhaar needs two mandatory biometric updates, here’s why

The Aadhaar card issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is used almost for all government works. Be it for applying for any government scheme or apply for any ID cards issued by the government of India.

The UIDAI helps the Aadhaar card holders to make certain changes, if they want to. The Aadhaar card holders can correct their names, address, date of birth, marital status, and other details as per their requirements. Even, a child’s Aadhaar needs two mandatory biometric update.

People can update their children’s Aadhaar card free of cost at any Aadhaar Seva Kendra. The two biometric update has to be done in two phases- first, at the age of 5 years and second at the age of 15 years.

The prime reason why the a child’s Aadhaar needs two mandatory biometric updates- at the age of 5 years and at the age of 15 years- it is because their fingerprints, pupil of the eyes and biometric parameters change when the child enters adolescence.
