Mumbai: Uber-talented Pankaj Tripathi will be seen next playing Janhvi Kapoor’s father in a biopic based on IAF combat pilot Gunjan Saxena. The shoot for the untitled movie has already begun at Lucknow.
Gunjan had played a monumental role in rescuing the soldiers during the Kargil War in 1999 and was later awarded the gallantry Shaurya Vir Award for her courage and valour during the war.
Tripathi will reprise the role of Anuj Saxena, father of Gunjan Saxena. While Janhvi will feature as the lead, child artist Riva Arora will play Janhvi’s younger version. Riva had played Sridevi’s daughter in Mom.
In her post, Riva said how she had met Janhvi on the sets of Mom as well and that the actor is still as sweet and lovely as she was before making her big Bollywood debut last year.

Both Janhvi and Pankaj will continue shooting in Lucknow until the first week of March. Pankaj will then return to Mumbai after wrapping up his first schedule.
While Pankaj Tripathy was last seen in Luka Chupi, Janhvi Kapoor did her debut with Dhadak. While Janhvi was greatly appreciated for her debut, the powerhouse of a performer that Pankaj is not unknown. As viewers, we will have to wait till these two superb actors come together on screen and the magic unfolds.
