IPL 2017: Mumbai Indians, Pune Supergiants post wins
Mumbai Indians registered their fourth straight win this IPL season, as they beat Gujarat Lions by 6 wickets. In another match, Rising Pune Supergiants defeated the depleted Royal Challengers Bangalore.
In the first match, Gujarat Lions posted 176/4 in 20 overs. Brendon McCullum was the top scorer with 64. Dinesh Karthik remained unbeaten on 48. McClenaghan took two wickets.
Mumbai Indians comfortably reached the target in 19.3 overs by losing 4 wickets. Nitish Rana was the top scorer with 53. Rohit Sharma remained not out at 40. Kieron Pollard scored 39. Andrew Tye took two wickets. Nitish Rana was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
In the second match, Rising Pune Supergiants posted 161/8 in 20 overs. Rahane 31, Rahul Tripathi 30, Smith 27, Dhoni 28, Manoj Tiwary 27 were the top scorers. Adam Milne and Sreenath Aravind took two wickets each.
Chasing a victory target of 162, RCB could manage just 134/9 in 20 overs and lost the match by 27 runs. Kohli 28 and AB de Villiers 29 were the top scorers. Shardul Thakur and Ben Stokes took three wickets each. Jayadev Unadkat took two wickets. Ben Stokes was adjudged ‘Man of the Match’.
