Nairobi: In a tragic incident, as many as six people were killed after a light aircraft crashed in Kenya. The crash took place in the capital city of Nairobi, said reports.

According to reports, the mid-size jet a Cessna Citation XLS, departed from Nairobi but crashed in Mwihoko, a residential area in Kiambu County. Kiambu County Commissioner Henry Wafula said four died onboard and two others were killed inside the house.

Several videos from the scene went viral. The plane was show in flames surrounded by several people. The military, medical police, reached the site quickly to secure the area and keep crowds away.

In a shocking incident, a helicopter crashed shortly after takeoff on Wednesday morning killing all eight people on board in Ghana.

The Ghana governement confirmed that Defense minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed were among the victims of the crash.

According to the reports, the Z-9 utility helicopter took off from Accra and was flying to Obuasi town in Ashanti region. It went off the radar shortly after takeoff and later crashed. Rescue teams found the wreckage and confirmed that no one had survived.

The other victims included the Vice-Chair of the ruling National Democratic Congress, a senior national security adviser and the helicopter’s crew members.

Officials have not confirmed the cause of the crash yet. This is one of the worst air crashes in Ghana over 10 years. In 2021, a cargo plane in Accra ran off the runway and crashed into a passenger bus killing atleast ten people.
