Secondhand car fraud in Bhubaneswar on the rise, 20 people have been cheated so far

Bhubaneswar: There has been a remarkable rise in the secondhand car fraud in Bhubaneswar, said reliable reports on Wednesday. The fraudsters are promising secondhand cars and then disappearing, said reports.

Reports say that not only in the capital city of Bhubaneswar but also in the various districts of Odisha this phenomenon of secondhand car fraud is on the rise.

It has been estimated that there is a gang involved in such activities. There are reports that as many as 20 people have been defrauded in this process.

A whopping sum of as much as Rs. 20 lakh has been looted by this group of fraudsters. A couple  had opened an office in Bhubaneswar and used to befriend people and win their trust and then defraud them.

There are a number of cases against the couple under various police stations within the Commissionerate Police jurisdiction said reliable reports. The fraud has been identified as Akshaya Gauda, he has been arrested by the Capital Police station.

The others involved in the secondhand car fraud in Bhubaneswar are Shivram Gauda, Akshay Gauda and Usharani Gauda and all of them are allegedly missing.
