Heartwarming! Family breaks stereotypes, celebrates first menstruation of their girl

Goddesses are celebrated in Navratri. Similarly, women are also celebrated with Kanya Pujan during Navratri 2025. In a video going viral on the Internet, a girl shared a heartwarming video of how her family celebrated her first menstruation.

The video celebrating the first menstruation of the girl was posted on Instagram and has racked in over 15 million views. Aayusha, shared that her family performed a special ritual which made her burst into tears.

From the eldest to the youngest, all the male members of the family, placed money on her feet and bowed down showing a gesture of reverence. She broke down and tears rolled down her cheeks seeing the treatment she received for her first menstruation.

Instead of locking her in a room and asking her not to look at or touch any male member, she was celebrated. All the family members came in a queue and offered money at her feet. Breaking all the societal stereotypes, a family has showed respect to their daughter.

Netizens were moved by the gesture and flooded the comments section with several comments. One user wrote, “Just one word for the entire world- LEARN.” A second user shared her experience and wrote, “I remember my first time vividly. I was in ninth grade, didn’t have a phone, and my mother told me to lock myself in a room. My dad came later, hugged me and reassured me I could do whatever I wanted. That moment made me feel proud to be his daughter. I miss him dearly. God bless you.”

Another user showed the witty yet stubborn reply of her mother and wrote, “I showed this video to my family and they said this is AI.”
