Puri Police busted a sex racket in Talabania area while searching for a minor girl who went missing recently and arrested 12 persons, including the woman kingpin of the flesh trade.
Puri: Puri Police busted a sex racket in Talabania area while searching for a minor girl who went missing recently and arrested 12 persons, including the woman kingpin of the flesh trade.
Acting on a missing complaint filed by the minor girl’s mother on February 18, police conducted a raid on different places and rescued the minor girl who had gone missing since January 12. Based on the information received from the girl, cops conducted a raid on the hotel and busted the sex racket.
They also arrested the kingpin, whom they identified as Ranjulata Das, along with 11 other men for their involvement in the illegal activities.
They were arrested on various sections of the POCSO Act, including 120(3), 376(2)n, 376(2)f, 370(5), and 366(A) and forwarded to the court.
Further probe into the matter is underway.
