Ex-MLA Rajendra Dholkia’s son Jay likely to contest from BJD for Nuapada by-poll

Bhubaneswar: Jay Dholakia, son of late Rajendra Dholakia may be fielded from BJD for Nuapada MLA seat in the coming by-election. He has said that he has got green signal for it from the party.

Jay Dholakia, son of late Rajendra Dholakia, said that he has got the green signal from the BJD supremo. Jay Dholakia has informed the media in his response that he will contest from BJD in the upcoming by-election. However, Jay Dholakia has denied the news published in some media that he will join another party.

Now Jay Dholakia is visiting various villages of Nuapada constituency to garner public support. He said that he is fully ready to contest the upcoming by-election.

The Nuapada Assembly seat has fallen vacant after the demise of MLA Rajendra Dholakia.

Rajendra Dholakia became an MLA from Nuapada seat four times. He had been projecting his son Jay as his political successor for the past few months. This is clear from Rajendra’s various social media posts. Rajendra Dholakia posted his son Jay Dholakia on social media with BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik’s photo with a conch symbol. He has even shared Jay Dholakia’s speech on social media. There is a high possibility that the junior Dholakia will be a candidate from the BJD.

Although the notification for this by-election has not been issued, the struggle has started regarding who will be the candidate from which party.
