India to play against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025 despite Pahalgam Tragedy: Sources

Sources have reported that India will likely play against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025 amidst the tensions going on between the countries.

Amidst the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack followed by Operation Sindoor and ceasefire violations. These conflicts has put the Asia Cup 2025 in jeopardy. Amidst all these tensions India boycotted Pakistani artists and actors. Reports also said that BCCI might boycott India’s matches against Pakistan both in ACC and ICC events. However, as per the new reports, Asia Cup 2025 might go as per plan with India and Pakistan heading face to face.

According to the reports posted by several media houses, The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is planning to host the tournament in September with India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and UAE as the participants. India might likely face against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025.

It was further stated that promotional activities for the tournament has already begun and UAE is the frontrunner as host.

Originally India was supposed to be the hosts but the tensions against Pakistan forced ACC to look for new host.

According to the sources, a member PCB said, “With the Asia Cup now unlikely to be held in India as originally planned in September due to the simmering relations between India and Pakistan, the PCB is working on another tri-series proposal.”
