Deepika Padukone To Start Shooting For Meghna Gulzar’s Film In March
Mumbai: After her fairytale wedding with long time beau Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone is back in action. She is all set to start working on her professional commitments and the first amongst them is Meghna Gulzar’s next in which she plays the role of acid attack survivor.
According to a report published in Filmfare, Deepika will commence shooting for the Meghna Gulzar directorial in March. Earlier, Meghna had revealed that she has been busy trying to bring more shape to the story of the film which is based on the life of acid attack survivor. She further said she is glad that people think this is an important subject and awareness must be raised on the disastrous trauma a person faces after an acid attack.
While Deepika was last seen as Queen Padmini in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavat’, Meghna’s last film was ‘Raazi’ which starred Alia Bhatt as an undercover Indian spy.
Interestingly, the yet-to-be-titled film is the only project in which Deepika has confirmed her presence. She was also supposed to star in Vishal Bharadwaj’s next with Irrfan Khan but the film never took off because of Irrfan’s deteriorating health.
Notably, Deepika Padukone got married to Ranveer Singh at an eleaborate ceremony in Italy on the 14th and 15th November. The couple tied the knot according to Konkani traditions and also took their nuptial vows in the Anand Karaj ceremony. The two recently held their first reception in Bengaluru and will be hosting two more wedding receptions in Mumbai.
