Truck swept away in flood waters in Sundargarh of Odisha, driver missing
A trailer truck and its driver have been swept away in flood waters in Sundargarh, police and fire personnel have launched search
Sundargarh: In a tragic incident, a truck was swept away in the flood waters in Sundargarh district of Odisha and the driver of the vehicle has been missing since then.
According to reports, a trailer truck was washed away in the flood waters. Unfortunately, the driver of the truck has gone missing since then. The trailer truck was washed away from Safei river bridge in Sundargarh district under the Badagaon police station jurisdiction. The driver of the vehicle is also missing.
It is worth mentioning that another person has also gone missing a short while ago. The trailer was carrying coal from the mines to Rourkela. While passing through the village road, the trailer lost its balance from Safei river bridge and fell into the river. As a result, the driver was washed away.
The local police and fire brigade have reached the spot and are investigating into the matter. The fire department personnel have launched a search operation for the driver of the trailer truck.
On August 24 in a miraculous escape, a jamun tree played saviour for a youth, drowning in the Jor of Sangrampur Gram Panchayat under Subalaya Police station in Subarnapur district. The rescued youth has been identified as Adarsh Pradhan of Sankirasira village.
According to information, the youth clung to a jamun tree in a bid to save himself. The locals saw and informed the fire brigade. On receiving information, the fire personnel reached the spot and started the rescue mission.
As per reports, six youth of the same village had gone to take a bath in the Jor river. While the five others managed to swim to the shore, Adarsh could not and drowned. He somehow managed to take hold of a branch and clung to it. His friends informed the fire tenders who rescued him.
