The minor girl’s rape case in Bhubaneswar has been classified as Red Flag case for priority investigation as the girl belongs to the neighbouring state- Jharkhand.

With today’s development of the case, a woman senior police officer has been assigned to investigate the sensational case. Besides, four women DSPs from the Crime Against Women (CAW) unit have been asked to assist in the probe.

The state police is also reportedly co-operating with the Jharkhand police to get more information about the case.

The 17-year-old girl from Jharkhand was allegedly raped recently but the incident came to light late on Friday prompting the Commissionerate Police to intensify its probe from all possible angles.

In course of investigation, the city police found out that the girl was forced into prostitution racket and arrested four persons including the alleged mastermind. They also conducted a raid on a house in the Laxmisagar area and rescued ten young women from the spot and seized a car where the girls were allegedly escorted to various places.
