Minor girl raped in Daringbadi; Another missing minor girl found dead in Angul, murder after rape suspected
A minor girl was allegedly raped in Daringbadi area of Odisha’s Kandhamal district while another murder after rape suspected case was reportedly from Angul district today.

As alleged by the family members, a 14-year-old Class IX student was raped inside a car during an idol immersion procession in the Daringbadi on September 5 evening.
The minor along with her elder sister, who lives in Daringbadi area, had gone to witness a Ganesh Visarjan ceremony on Friday. While returning home, the accused allegedly dragged the girl into a car and fled from the spot.
After taking her to some distance, the accused raped the minor girl inside the car and threatened to kill her if she informs about it to anyone.
However, the minor share her ordeal before her family members after reaching home, following which a complaint was lodged at the Daringbadi police station.
Based on the complaint, cops registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter. Apart from recording the girl’s statement cops also conducted her medical examination.
In another tragic incident, body of a 10-year-old girl was found in a drain at Shyamsundarpur village under Angul Sadar police station today. She was missing since 1 PM yesterday.
As they did not find her, they filed a missing case with the local police. However, her body without clothes was discovered during a search near the “Bhalu Khai” drain this morning.
While under what circumstances, the girl died is yet to be known, her family members alleged that she raped and murdered, as injuries on her neck, ear, and eye were found.
Angul Sadar police has started an investigation with the help of a sniffer dog and scientific team. The body was also sent for post-mortem.
