Christmas buzz in Kandhamal as Churches get ready for Grand Celebration
Kandhamal district is witnessing heightened festive activity as the Christian community prepares to celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus Christ
Kandhamal: Christmas fervour has gripped Kandhamal as the festival is just hours away. The Christian community prepares to celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus Christ.
Churches across Kandhamal are decorated with colorful lights and decorations. Preparations are in the final stage to celebrate Christmas in a grand and peaceful manner. Areas like Phulbani, G. Udayagiri, Raikia, Daringbadi and Baliguda are glowing as churches shine with bright lights and festive decorations.
To ensure a peaceful celebration, a peace committee meeting was held under the leadership of the Kandhamal Collector Vedbhushan and the Superintendent of Police. Police and district administration have also conducted flag marches at several places.
Security has been tightened across the district. As many as 27 platoons of force, 80 SI and OSI officers have been deployed. The arrangements are being supervised by 17 Inspectors, 7 SDPOs, one DSP and an Additional SP.
Raikia police officials have made it clear that no disturbance will be tolerated. Church priests have thanked the administration and police for their support in ensuring a safe and joyful Christmas celebration.
