The incident occurred on Sunday morning and came to light upon the aircraft’s arrival at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi.

As per to official sources, the boy managed to enter the restricted area at Kabul airport and hide inside the rear central landing gear compartment of KAM Air flight RQ-4401. The flight, which departed from Kabul, landed in Delhi around 11.00 am after a two-hour journey.

The teenager was, however, repatriated to Afghanistan on Sunday (September 21, 2025) itself, on the same flight, sources said. Dressed in a white kurta-pyjama, he was spotted by some airport staff, who informed the CISF personnel at the airport.

“Upon inquiry, it turned out that he hid in the rear central landing gear compartment (rear wheel well) of the aircraft. He is from Kunduz city, Afghanistan. Subsequently, an aircraft security check was conducted by the airline’s security and engineering staff, during which a small red-coloured audio speaker was found in the rear landing gear area,” the CISF said in a statement.
