Boatman makes Rs 30 crores in 45 days of Maha kumbh: CM Yogi Adityanath shares success story

CM Yogi Adityanath in the UP Assembly shared a saga of boatman Pintu who made Rs 30 crores by rowing boats in the 45-day religious gathering.

The recently concluded Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj saw a major influx of pilgrims and with that many a people rose to fame overnight. Recently CM Yogi Adityanath in the UP Assembly shared one such saga of boatman Pintu who earned Rs 30 crores by rowing boats in the 45-day religious gathering.

CM Adityanath lashed out at the opposition for criticising the Maha Kumbh Mela arrangements and cited the boatman family of Pintu Mahara earned Rs 30 crores from Maha Kumbh Mela. He claimed that the single family operated 130 boats and collected Rs 30 crores throughout Mahakumbh that began on January 13 and concluded on February 26.

He highlighted the figures in the Legislative Assembly and said that a single boat generated daily earnings ranging between Rs 50,000 and Rs 52,000. This throws a light on the economic opportunities that the Mela provided to local businessmen.

He reacted to the Samajwadi Party’s allegations that the boatmen of Prayagraj were ‘exploited’. This means each boat that the family had put up earned Rs 23 lakh. On a daily basis, they earned Rs 50,000 to Rs 52,000 by rowing each boat.
