Tata Harrier EV likely to launch in FY2025, company gives confirmation

Tata Motors will be introducing two new EVs by the end of March 2025 and it will include the Tata Harrier EV. According to the latest investor day presentation, the information has been confirmed. Along with the Tata Harrier EV, the company will be launching Curvv EV during this time period.

The Tata Harrier EV just like the Curvv EV will be using the Punch EV’s Acti.EV architecture. The SUV will be based on the same Land Rover-derived Omega platform which is used in the ICE powered Harrier. However, the electric Harrier will be re-engineered in order to support electric powertrain. The electric Harrier is expected to feature a flat floor. The company has mentioned that the Tata Harrier EV will be offering V2L (vehicle-to-load) and (V2V) vehicle-to-vehicle charging capabilities.

There is no info about the battery capacity of the Harrier EV. However, it is expected that the Harrier EV will be equipped with 60kWh battery pack that delivers a range of 500km in single charge. The SUV will offer electric motor on each axle and this means that it will offer all-wheel-drive setup.

Design of the Harrier EV is likely to be similar to the concept that is showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. The front grille will be a closed grille just like the Nexon EV.  The front and the back bumpers will be new and the roofline will be similar to that of a coupe. The EV will share some form of similarity with ICE Harrier and Safari.
