New-York: Two commercial planes of Delta Airlines collided while taxiing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Wednesday, injuring one person, according to authorities.
In a statement, Delta Air Lines said that a “low-speed collision” occurred between Endeavor Air Flight 5047, arriving from Charlotte, North Carolina, and Endeavor Flight 5155, which was scheduled to depart for Roanoke, Virginia.
The nose of one plane collided with the right wing of the other plane while both jets were taxiing, according to Air Traffic Control audio. The pilots reported damage to their windshield.
One person was injured in the accident that took place around 9:56 p.m (local time), a report by ABC said.
Video footage circulating on social media, seemingly captured from inside a nearby plane, showed flashing emergency lights on the tarmac and visible damage to one jet’s wing.
