Italy: A female DJ recently turned the sacred Shiv Tandav Stotram into a high-energy EDM track at a big music festival in Italy. The performance in the viral clip was by the world renowned DJ Charlotte De Witte.

In the clip, the crowd was surrounded by bright neon lights, dancing in excitement as the ancient chant mixed with modern electronic beats. The video of her performance has now gone viral on social media.

The remix has sparked mixed reactions online. Many people praised the creative fusion of tradition and modern music, saying it made the chant more fun and accessible. Others felt that a sacred chant should not be turned into a party song.

One user commented, “Prayer to lord Shiva is universal. So heartwarming.”

While another added, “Do the crowd even know that it’s a spiritual song? There’s no harm in playing but the circumstances must be appropriate. Playing a devotional song at a concert that too for an audience which might not be aware of its sanctity is highly inappropriate.”

The Shiv Tandav Stotram is a famous Hindu hymn dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed to have been written by Ravana, the king of Lanka. The hymn describes Lord Shiva’s powerful cosmic dance called the Tandava, which shows the cycle of creation, preservation and destruction in the universe.
