China Eastern Airlines to launch daily non-stop Delhi-Shanghai flights from January 2
The flight, MU564, will depart Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport at 7:55 pm, arriving at Pudong International Airport in Shanghai at 4:10 am the following day.
New Delhi: China Eastern Airlines is set to boost travel between India and China with daily non-stop flights from Delhi to Shanghai starting January 2, 2026. This move comes after the successful relaunch of the Delhi-Shanghai route in November 2025, which had been suspended for nearly five years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and border tensions.
The flight, MU564, will depart Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 7:55 pm, arriving at Pudong International Airport in Shanghai at 4:10 am the following day. The return flight, MU563, will leave Shanghai at 12:50 pm and land in Delhi at 5:45 pm.
This expansion reflects robust passenger demand and China Eastern’s commitment to strengthening air connectivity between India and China. The airline also plans to relaunch the Kolkata-Kunming route and introduce a new Mumbai-Shanghai connection soon.
The resumption of flights is seen as a positive step in improving bilateral relations, following recent confidence-building measures, including the resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
