Morocco: At least 19 people were killed and 16 others were injured on Wednesday after two buildings collapsed in Morocco’s Fes city. The death toll includes children, local media reported.
As per the local authorities, two adjacent four-storey buildings collapsed overnight, the state news agency said. The incident was reported on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
The buildings were occupied by eight families. At least 16 people are said to be injured in the incident.
On being informed, the police and the locals rushed to the site and the injured were immediately transported to the university hospital centre in Fes. While search and rescue operations continued as many might be still trapped under the debris.
