Vivo expected to roll out Origin OS in India, will replace Funtouch OS

Vivo will be rolling out Origin OS in India very soon for Vivo and iQOO smartphones, mentioned a latest leak. Currently, both the brands offer FuntouchOS 15 based on Android 15 in most of their devices sold in India. The Origin OS 6 (latest version) will be based on Android 16 and is likely to be offered first in the Vivo X300 series devices.

Few weeks earlier, a Reddit user who claimed to be Vivo India employee suggested the roll out of Origin OS 6, based on Android 16 in India. However, the employee did not mention anything about specific timeline.

Vivo has earlier confirmed that the new Origin OS 6 will be launched in China on from October 10. Vivo X300 and the Vivo X300 Pro will be the first devices to get this OS.

Recently, Vivo launched the Y31 series smartphones in India. The series include Vivo Y31 5G and Vivo Y31 Pro 5G. The Vivo Y31 Pro 5G offers octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC (4nm). The device offers up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage. Vivo has claimed that the RAM can be expanded by up to 8GB.

The device offers 6.72-inch LCD screen with refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The display offers 2408×1080 pixels resolution along with 383ppi pixel density. The peak HBM brightness is 1050nits. The device offers a 6500 mAh massive battery and supports 44W charging support.
