Samsung launching Galaxy A06 5G soon, Receives certification

Samsung is reportedly working on the 5G version of the recently launched Galaxy A06. The said smartphone debuted in a 4G-only form back in August this year. According to reports, the rumoured Galaxy A06 5G has received certification by the Wi-Fi Alliance. It has been registered under the model number SM-A066B/DS.

Moreover, it has been mentioned to support dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and will obviously run Android.

This will be the first handset in the A0x family to support 5G. The 5G version will feature a different chipset that will make its eligible for 5G connectivity. However, it might be a low-end chipset, but which exact one is unknown right now.

Given the similar name, the A06 5G could keep some or most of the A06 4G’s specs and just upgrade the SoC. More details will be known in the future.

Samsung Galaxy A06 4G specs

Samsung launched the 4G version of the Galaxy A06 in August, 2024. The device features a 6.7 inche screen with 720 x 1600 pixels resolution, 20:9 ratio and is powered by an Octa-core Mediatek Helio G85 processor. The device runs Android 14 and is promised to get 2 major Android upgrades.

The device features dual rear camera unit that houses a 50MP sensor and a 2Mp sensor. At the front, it has an 8MP selfie camera. A 5000 mAh battery with 25W wired charging powers the device. It also has a Fingerprint sensor for bio-metric security.  It supports dual-band Wi-Fi, has 5.3 Bluetooth connectivity.

The device is currently offered at a priced under Rs 10,000. It is available in three colour options of Blue, Gold, White.
