A new variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected launch in China this month and the company has announced it. The upcoming device is reportedly codenamed W26 and it is expected to be Galaxy Z Fold 7 Special Edition. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 device was introduced in India and global markets in 2025.

Specifications

The website of Samsung in China has revealed that a new foldable smartphone will be launched in China on October 11 at 4pm local time. The silhouette shows a Z-style foldable handset which is quite similar to Galaxy Z Fold 7. The device was teased in black and red colour options while the frame is gold-coloured.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 Special Edition (expected) will be the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition. We can expect improved camera system and display if compared to the standard model.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition offers 8-inch internal and 6.5-inch outer screens. The standard variant of the smartphone offers 6.3-inch display on the outside and 7.60-inch display on the interior. The main wide-camera (on the special edition) offers 200MP while the rest of the camera is unchanged.

SamMobile reported that the upcoming device will have a codename W26 and will be restricted to just China. Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition had also launched only in China. The special edition of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is likely to offer Snapdragon 8 Elite chip along with up to 16GB of RAM. The storage on the device will be up to 1TB. The expected OS on the device will be Android 16 based One UI 8.0.
