Honor Magic8 Pro and Magic8 with AI Button launched, Check specs and other details

The all new Honor Magic8 series with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and AI button has made its maiden debut in the Chinese market on Wednesday.

The all new Honor Magic8 series has made its maiden debut in the Chinese market on Wednesday. The series contains two smartphones Honor Magic 8 and Magic8 Pro. The new flagship devices are powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and feature an AI button.

Honor Magic8 Pro

The Honor Magic8 Pro is the top-tier model of the series with advanced specifications over the basic Honor Magic 8. IT features a 6.71-inch OLED LTPO display with a 6,000 nits of peak brightness, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1256 x 2808 pixels resolution.

The device runs on MagicOS 10 and has an IP68/IP69/IP69K rating for water and dust resistance.

At the rear camera unit, it carries three lenses including a 200MP telephoto unit that uses a 1/1.4-inch sensor with an f/2.6 aperture lens and a secondary a 50MP primary camera with an 1/1.3-inch sensor, f/1.6 aperture, and OIS. Lastly, the camera setup also features a 50MP ultrawide camera that offers 122 degree FOV. The main camera supports 3.7x optical zoom and OIS.  It also gets a 50MP front camera.

It also has a 3D depth camera for face unlock and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner as well.

The Magic8 Pro packs a 7,200mAh Si-C battery in China, however the EU version features a smaller 6,270mAh cell. It supports up to 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.

The phone is equipped with AI features and the Yoyo agent. The AI button is customisable and lets you access the AI assistant with a long-press as well as perform other actions.

The Magic8 Pro measures 8.4mm thick and weighs 213g.

Honor Magic8

The base Magic8 features a smaller 6.58-inch OLED LTPO display with 120Hz refresh rate, and 1256 x 2808 pixels resolution and 6,000 nits of peak brightness. Like the Pro model, it also has the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and comes with an AI button and the Yoyo assistant.

The cameras present on the device are a 50MP 1/1.56-inch sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 64MP telephoto unit with 3x optical zoom. For selfies, it gets a 50MP camera on the front.

However, it does not have the 3D depth camera for biometrics. Although, the phone does offer an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

The Honor Magic8 houses a 7,000mAh battery with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging support.

Honor Magic8 series price and availability

Honor has started the pre-order of both the Magic8 and Magic 8 Pro in China. Meanwhile, the sale of the device is set to begin on October 23. The base model Magic8 is priced at CNY 4,499 (around Rs 55,471) for the 12GB/256GB variant. While the 12GB/512GB option is priced at 4,799 (around Rs 59,170) and the 16GB/512GB model will cost you 4,999 (around Rs 61,636). Lastly, the 16GB/1TB option can be yours for CNY 5,499 (around Rs 67801). It can be bought in Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan, and Black colors.

Meanwhile, the Magic8 Pro with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 5,699 (around Rs 70,262). The phone is also available in a 12GB/512GB variant that costs CNY 5,999 (around Rs 73,961), a 16GB/512GB option that’s CNY 6,199 (around Rs 76,426), and a 16GB/1TB option that’ll set you back by CNY 6,699 (around Rs 82,591). It is available in Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan, and Black color options as well.
