Google finally fixes a sensor issue with cases on Pixel 9 Pro Fold, know details about it
The Android 16 Beta 2 has been released and Google is addressing the issue on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold through the Pixel System Services application
Google has finally introduced the fix of a sensor issue that occurred on Pixel Fold devices. The issue occurred if the person used the Google foldable phone with magnetic case. It was found that the Magnetic cases interfered with the sensor that measures the hinge angle of the device. The hinge angle is quite crucial when it came to day to day use.
The Android 16 Beta 2 has been released and Google is addressing the issue on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold through the Pixel System Services application, reported Android Authority. The new setting is called “robust open/close detection” and Google suggests that users can turn it on if you are using a magnetic case. This will sort out the issue between smartphone sensor and the magnets present on the case. There is also a warning by Google that suggests users to turn off this feature if we are not using magnetic accessory. Keeping the feature on even though you are not using a magnetic case will drain the battery.
Even though the fix is available for Pixel Fold and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, we are unsure whether the same will be applicable for the other foldable Android devices.
