The new e-Aadhaar app (by UIDAI) will offer its users to update their important details with their smartphones.
The Government of India will be launching a new Aadhaar application for smartphone users very soon. This will help users to update personal details on the app and that too without visiting the offline centres.
As the Aadhaar mobile application launches in India, changing personal details will be just fingertips away. According to a report by Financial Express (which cited a government official) the mobile application is expected to launch by the end of 2025.
What will the e-Aadhaar app offer?
The new e-Aadhaar app will offer its users to update their important details with their smartphones. This includes user’s name as well as residential address.
Multiple media reports have pointed out that the application will offer a digital solution for people over in-person visits to the Aadhaar enrolment centres throughout the country.
Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is using artificial intelligence and Face ID technology for the mobile application. Post November 2025, people will just need to visit enrolment centres for authenticating biometrics (fingerprints and iris scanning).
As the new e-Aadhaar application launched, the users can log into the app and change their name, address, birth details, and much more. The application will automatically collect user data from verified government sources. The data that will be collected includes documents like birth certificates, PAN cards, passports, driving licences, ration cards and more.
