Bhubaneswar: In a moment of pride for Odisha’s cricket community, two players Rajesh Mohanty and Swastik Samal,have earned spot in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 mega auction after being included in the final player list released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Both the players have secured a base price of Rs 30 lakh each.
The IPL 2026 mini-auction, scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi, saw a late addition of 19 new players to the auction register, bringing the total pool to 369 participants.
25-year-old Rajesh Mohanty, known for his sharp pace and disciplined bowling, continues to impress selectors with consistent performances in domestic tournaments. His ability to deliver under pressure strengthens his reputation as a dependable fast bowler. He has played 28 T20 matches. He has taken 27 wickets and scored a total of 100 runs.
Swastik Samal, an emerging all-rounder, demonstrates versatility with both bat and ball. His balanced skill set makes him a valuable addition to the auction pool. He has scored 362 runs in 13 T20Is and the highest run he has scored is 105.
