The extension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season due to India- Pakistan conflict has caused chaos for franchises. While Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has forwarded the message to bring back all overseas players back for the resumption of IPL. According to the sources, talks are still going on between two boards as Cricket South Africa is unwilling to let the cricketers stay more than May 26 as their eyes are on the World Test Championship final.

BCCI confirmed on Monday that IPL will resume on May 17 and will continue till June 3.

However, the revised schedule has left players from WTC finalists from Australia and South Africa in tight spot. The franchises and the BCCI have requested the foreign boards to make their players available for the rest of the tournament.

However, CSA is adamant on its commitment to WTC final preparations.
