MS Dhoni has returned in the role of captain of CSK (Chennai Super Kings). The legendary wicket keeping batter will lead CSK for the rest of the IPL 2025 season.
This decision was taken by the team after the sudden injury of regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad confirmed CSK headcoach Stephen Fleming in a statement to media persons. Gaikwad was injured after he was hit by a short ball from Jofra Archer.
Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the season due to a hairline fracture of the elbow, mentioned official X handle of CSK.
In this season of IPL 2025, Chennai Super Kings has won a single match out of the total five matches. The team occupies ninth spot in the IPL 2025 table.
