New Delhi: Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur and all-rounder Deepti Sharma directed India to a smooth win in T20I series against Sri lanka by 15 runs in yesterday’s match at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
The toss was won by Sri Lanka, who elected to bowl first.
After being reduced to 77/5 in the 11th over, Harmanpreet Kaur walked out to bat in the 11th over and scored more than a half century in yesterday’s match.
Harmanpreet Kaur was the Player of the Match for her brilliant all-round performance, scoring an unbeaten 63 runs off 40 balls and taking a crucial wicket, leading India to a series win.

During the course of the match, Deepti Sharma became the leading wicket-taker in women’s T20Is with 152 scalps.
After scoring 175/7 in 20 overs. India’s bowlers then restricted Sri Lanka to 160 for 7.
Sri Lanka’s cricketers Imesha Dulani (50) and Hasini Perera (65) made well-paced fifties but Sri Lanka could make only 160 for seven in chasing India’s 175 for seven.

This was India’s third 5-0 streak in T20I, following similar clean streaks against West Indies in 2019 and Bangladesh in 2024.
India and England are the only teams with three whitewashes of five-match series in women’s T20Is.
