Champions Trophy 2025, IND vs NZ: India beat New Zealand by 44 runs, Enters semi-final undefeated

Dubai: India has defeated New Zealand by 44 runs and has entered the semi-final of the tournament undefeated. Chasing a modest target of 250 runs set by India in the Match 12 of Champions Trophy 2025, New Zealand was up to a slow start. The kiwis continuously kept losing wickets and were all-out at 205 in 45.3 overs.

Kane Williamson was the top scorer batter in the New Zealand innings and contributed valuable 81 runs. No other batter gave support to the veteran batter and got out at frequent interval. Varun Chakravarthy picked 5 wickets in the innings and was awarded ‘Player of the match’.

After winning the toss, New Zealand opted to bowl first. After facing an initial collapse in the batting, India manages to score 249/9 in 50 overs of play. Important performances with the bat included that of S. Iyer (79), A. Patel (42) and H. Pandya (45).

India will be playing against Australia in the 1st semi-final match of the tournament on March 4, 2025 at the Dubai (Dubai International Stadium). Similarly, the second semi-final match will be played between South Africa and New Zealand on March 5, 2025 in Pakistan (Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore).
