In a disturbing incident, a video showing a man harassing a wild elephant by pulling its tail has gone viral on social media. The footage has sparked widespread outrage online with many calling for strict action against those involved.
The incident took place in Medinipur district, West Bengal when a herd of elephants reportedly entered a village near a forested area. In the video, a group of men can be seen standing dangerously close to the animals.
One man approaches an elephant from behind and pulls its tail. The elephant then tries to move away, while the man laughs and retreats. In other parts of the footage, stones are thrown at the herd, agitating the animals further.
The video was shared on Instagram with the caption, “A mob of humans is throwing stones and pulling an elephant’s tail for FUN! Yes, the ELEPHANTS are two, and yes, the chaos is entirely caused by people. Tell me – who’s really wild here? The majestic giants… or the humans acting like animals?”
