Telangana: Hostel warden assaults student, video goes viral

Hyderabad: A disturbing video from Telangana’s Jayashankar Bhupalpally district has sparked widespread outrage after an SC girls’ hostel warden was allegedly seen assaulting a student. The incident reportedly took place last month but remained unnoticed until the video surfaced on social media, drawing sharp reactions.

The clip shows the warden thrashing  the girl student inside the hostel. This has raised serious questions regarding student safety and the misuse of authority in residential institutions.

As per reports, the warden was suspended following the circulation of the video. In the footage, she is seen beating the student with a stick and also with her bare hands, even as the student repeatedly pleaded her to stop.

According to sources, the assault was triggered after some students returned to the hostel after 12 midnight, allegedly violating exit timing rules.

In the video Bhavani is heard reprimanding the students, saying they had permission to go out only until midnight and questioning their discipline. She also expressed fear of losing her job if rules were broken. The incident has renewed calls for strict monitoring and accountability in hostels meant to protect young students.
