Railway doctor treats passenger with jaw dislocation at Palakkad junction
A railway doctor treated a patient of jaw dislocation at the Palakkad junction. His treated the patient in less than three minutes.
Palakkad (Kerala): In a video circulating on social media, a 24-year-old passenger was administered medical aid at the Palakkad junction for a jaw dislocation. A railway doctor treated the jaw dislocation very promptly.
The incident happened on October 17, when the youth was travelling on Train No. 22503 Kanniyakumari – Dibrugarh Vivek Express. As he yawned, he suffered a jaw dislocation. One of his relatives informed the Travelling ticket examiner (TTE) who then informed the Palakkad railway authorities. His jaws got locked and he sat there helplessly.
As the train reached the Palakkad junction, Dr. Jithin P.S., Divisional Medical Officer of Railway Hospital, Palakkad was waiting to treat the passenger. He diagnosed the problem and then treated his jaw dislocation.
He barely took three minutes to treat him. The Southern Railways had uploaded the video on X, suggesting the dedication and quick action of the Railways.
As the video ends, the young passenger shakes hands with the railway doctor as a gesture of saying thanks. He checked his jaws by slightly moving them and then thanked him.
The video soon went viral and received a lot of appreciation by the netizens. The prompt response of the Indian Railways at an odd time of 2.30 am was indeed praiseworthy.
