Indigo Surat-Goa flight delayed 7 hours, passengers celebrate with Garba at Goa Airport
Indigo passengers celebrated Navratri with Garba at the Goa airport when their flight was delayed for several hours.
In an unusual incident, Indigo passengers on the Surat-Goa route celebrated Navratri with Garba at the Goa airport when their flight was delayed for several hours. A clip of passengers doing Garba inside the airport has gone viral of social media.
The problem began when the pilot of flight 6E 418 suddenly fell ill and the airline needed extra time to arrange another pilot. Because of this, the flight that usually leaves Surat at 3:20 PM could only take off at 9:45 PM which was nearly seven hours late.
This also caused delays for the return journey. The flight from Goa to Surat, which was supposed to leave at 5:00 PM, was pushed back by almost five hours. Many passengers were keen to reach Surat quickly because of the Navratri celebrations but instead, they were stuck waiting at the airport.
Rather than letting frustration take over, the travelers decided to make the best of the situation. With the support of airport staff, who arranged a speaker, they played Kinjal Dave’s garba song. Soon, passengers joined together and performed garba right inside Goa airport.
The viral clip is capturing hearts across the country with many internet users are praising the passengers for their cheerful response to the delay. People are also applauding for the airport staff for supporting then arranging the sound system.
