American woman hails India’s healthcare, “Only Rs 50” she narrates

An American woman has recently gone viral for a video. She said she got her treatment at only rs 50 and appreciated the Indian healthcare.

In a viral video circulating online, a US woman sparked an online debate over the accessibility and cheap healthcare in India. The video shared by Kristen Fischer has gone viral in the Internet.

The woman dressed in a yellow kurti, while curling her hair narrates how she once cut her thumb and injured herself. She then rode in her bicycle to get her wound dressed. She said she spent about 45 minutes. Her wound was  dressed and to her surprise it cost her only Rs 50.

She was utterly surprised that she found a hospital in India which is just five minutes away from her house. She hailed the healthcare and said it is accessible in case of any sudden emergency.

Another thing that she highlighted was the inexpensive treatment that she received. The cut in her thumb was dressed at just Rs 50 which is just 60 cents as per USD.

Netizens have flooded the comment section with appreciation for the the Indian healthcare. One user wrote, “To all non-Indian- it cost her just 0.57 USD!” Another wrote, “We usually give first aid ourselves before we decide to go to the hospital. Usually the bleeding stops after a minute or so. Then we apply an antiseptic ointment and cover with a band-aid.”
