Youth thrashed to death over fishing in Odisha’s Balasore district!

Nilagiri: In a shocking incident, a youth was allegedly thrashed to death over fishing in Balasore district of Odisha on Friday. The incident took place in Sathilobalabalia village in Mahishapatta panchayat under Nilagiri Police Station limits.
The deceased has been identified as Gajendra Giri of Sathilobalia.
As per reports, Gajendra Giri had gone to the pond for fishing but did not return home for long time. Accordingly, his family members started searching for him and later found him in unconscious state in a pool of blood thrown in their paddy field.
The family members rescued him and rushed to the Nilagiri sub-divisional hospital for treatment. However, the doctor there declared him dead.
In this connection, the family members of the deceased has lodged a complaint at Nilagiri police station.
Nilagiri police have started an investigation into the incident. Further probe of the matter is underway.
