Baripada: An illegally constructed boundary wall of Baripada Sadar police station in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district was bulldozed following a court order on Sunday.
The boundary wall of the Sadar police station was reportedly blocking the government road leading to the house of one Salim Khan. Following this, he repeatedly requested the concerned police officers to demolish the illegal construction. However, his please went unheard.
Finding no other means to solve the issue, Khan took legal action and moved the local court over the matter. In 2018, he filed a case in the court against the Mayurbhanj SP and OIC of Baripada sadar police station.
While conducting hearing of the case, the court had ordered to demolish the boundary wall and reopen the road to Salim Khan’s house.
Acting on the direction of the court order, the wall of the police station was bulldozed today in the presence of the Superintendent of Police (SP) and Baripada Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO).
