Villagers demolish prime accused house in Bhadrak minor girl rape and murder case

Public anger erupted in Chandbali area of Bhadrak district after a minor girl was raped and murdered.

Chandbali: The rape and murder of minor girl in Chandbali area of Bhadrak has outraged public anger. The irate villagers demolished the house of the main accused, Ganesh Das, a resident of Rampalli village and even threw all items present at his house.

The triggered villagers also blocked the road for about 17 hours to protest the incident. They placed the body of the minor on the road and demanded strict punishment for the accused.

To control the situation, police have been deployed in large numbers to maintain law and order.

However, police confirmed that the main accused, Satyabrata Das, has been arrested. He was hiding at his in-laws’ house in Jagatsinghpur district. A special police team conducted a raid and arrested him on Wednesday morning.

Earlier, police had detained four other persons for questioning.

Body of the 10-year-old girl lying in a pool of blood was recovered yesterday from a dense forest under the Chandabali police station limits.
