Two women sustain critical burn injuries as gas leaks in Odisha’s Ganjam
At least two women sustained critical burn injuries after a gas leak occurred while they were cooking at their house.
Berhampur: In a shocking incident, two women have sustained critical burn injuries after a gas leak occurred today. They have been rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
According to information, the gas leak occurred in Chandanbad village of Katuru Panchayat in Chikiti Block this evening. The incident happened while the two women were cooking in their house.
They were admitted to MKCG, Berhampur for treatment and later shifted to Bhubaneswar in a critical condition.
In another incident, a gas leakage occurred at ONGC Well No. 21 during re-drilling operation at Pasarlapudi village in Mamidikuduru Mandal of Konaseema district in Andhra Pradesh.
According to reports, the situation was swiftly brought under control by ONGC emergency response teams. Fire engines stationed near the site helped neutralize the gas leakage and prevent any outbreak of fire.
