Rourkela: An outing with friends turned tragic as two students meet watery grave at the Ghagara waterfall near Lathikata-Birakera in Sundargarh district of Odisha.
According to sources, six students had visited Ghagara waterfall near Lathikata-Birakera on Friday (today) for bathing and sightseeing. The mishap took place while all of them were taking bath in the waterfall. Some of the students slipped and fell into the deep waters of the waterfall.
Some locals who were near the accident spot rushed to help the students. However as they could not manage to rescue, the Fire Services team was informed who rushed the spot and launched rescue operations. While all were rescued and rushed to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH), two of them were declared brought dead by doctors.
Both the deceased were students of Rourkela Ispat English Medium School.
