Tourists saved from wild boar attack in Khordha’s Barunei, police man killed during rescue operation

A team of police, forest department, and fire brigade personnel worked tirelessly for 10 to 11 hours and finally rescued the tourists.

Khordha: In a daring rescue operation, five tourists were saved from the clutches of a wild boar who had been trapped in Khordha’s Barunai hills in Odisha since last night. The tourists, who were hiking in the area, were trapped after the wild boar launched attack on them. A police personnel was killed during the rescue operation.

As per the information, a few tourists who were hiking in the Barunei area of Khordha district had been trapped and had taken shelter on a tree to escape a violent wild boar attack. To help them out, a few locals along with police personnel, had rushed to the scene, but they were also trapped.

Later, a team of police, forest department, and fire brigade personnel ventured to the scene for rescue of the trapped people. Despite the challenges, the team worked tirelessly for 10 to 11 hours and finally rescued the tourists.

However, unfortunately, a policeman who went to rescue the tourists lost his life in the encounter with the wild animal.

After a long and tough rescue operation, all the tourists and the rescuers were finally saved from the clutches of the wild boar. However, more than three tourists were found to be in critical condition. A seriously injured tourist was shifted to Bhubaneswar for medical treatment.
